Blue Heron Communications is fortunate to have Lt. Bill Booth (Ret.) of the Oklahoma City Police Department as its firearms expert. From patrolman to detective to lieutenant, Bill worked his way through the ranks of the department with a reputation for great leadership, tireless work and creative problem solving.
Bill was the first-line supervisor over 14 crime-scene investigators (CSI) during the Murrah Federal Building bombing, a SWAT member and SWAT instructor. Bill is CLEET and NRA certified as a firearms instructor and armorer for the Oklahoma City Police Department. In addition to his formal police duties, he also worked in conjunction with department public relations efforts. His over-all knowledge of firearms and ballistics makes him sought out by writers for assistance in these matters.
Bill, a native of Miami, Oklahoma, received his undergraduate degree in urban geography from Oklahoma State University and earned a master’s degree (Urban Research) from the University of Oklahoma. An avid angler and hunter, Bill has fished and hunted from Alaska to South Africa in search of trophy fish and big game.
